Legal Highs

You can easily find legal psychedelics in your pharmacy, supermarket or just in the forest.

Great book, detailing all sorts of herbal and pure chemical preparations used as mind altering agents around the world.
Unlike its 'sister' book (Sex Drugs & Aphrodisiacs) this book shows its age (1973), since many of the 'legal' highs described within are now illegal in the USA.
It also has some dubious entries too, for example the now proven inactive substance Adrenochrome (famous from Fear & Loathing in Los Vegas). Also outdated is the description of Salvia divinorum being similar to psilocybin and having an unknown active principle.
The rest of the descriptions however are pretty accurate and it is a good quick read, but I would strongly suggest double checking ALL its facts before sampling the detailed materials!!!

Overall a classic, but (like most books new & old) it is lacking a little.
