TIHKAL, the Continuation

This is the Shulgin's followup to their highly acclaimed book PIHKAL. TIHKAL stands for 'Tryptamines I Have Known And Loved'. Here the natural products chemist can enjoy a delightful ramble through the astonishing diversity of creatures - from funghi and frogs to flowers - which contain DMT or its chemical near cousins.

Tihkal consists of two parts. Part I is a kind of novel in which Shulgin describes his firm beliefs and trip stories. The second part is an overview of all recently discovered substances and an explanation on how they can be chemically synthesized. Part II of Tihkal is also available online .
