Peace pipe Totem

Native beliefs explain that a totem animal is one that is with you for life, both in the physical and spiritual world. Though people may identify with different animal guides throughout their lifetimes, it is this one totem animal that acts as the main guardian spirit. This handcrafted peace pipe is decorated with an Indian chief wearing a bird's head.

Usage

The pipe ceremony begins with loading the herb into the pipe and then acknowledging the four directions, Mother Earth, and Father Sky; culminating with the final offering to the Great Spirit. The pipe is held firmly by the bowl in the palm of the hand with the stem pointed outward. The last step of the pipe offering is the holding up of the pipe with its stem pointed straight upward, out into the center of the universe.
