Ephedra

Ephedra Sinica or Ma Huang is originally a medicine for common colds and fever. It has been called the world's oldest medicine, since it has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years.

These days ephedra is still widely used as medicine for asthma, allergies, colds and hay fever. But most of all, ephedra is used as an energizer and for weight-loss and gaining muscles.
Effects
Ephedra has a similar effect to the body's own adrenaline or the chemical amphetamine. The active compound of ephedra is ephedrine. Ephedrine stimulates the burning of fat and thus provides more energy and enhances the perception. Ephedra also relaxes the respiratory organs which makes it suitable as a medicine for asthma.
In many countries ephedra is very popular as a weight-loss supplement because ephedra lowers the appetite and burns fat-cells. The burning of these fat-cells provides a lot of energy, which explains why ephedra is used as a herbal energizer. Ephedra is one of the strongest natural energizers so in many countries it is the main ingredient in many energizers, herbal XTC's and weight-loss products (like Xtenzion, Ultra-Boost and Stackers). Ephedra is active for quite a long time: 6 to 10 hours.
Usage
Making mormon tea is easy. For two cups take 10 grams of ephedra-herb and let it boil for 10 minutes. Then filter out the herb, for instance in a coffee filter. You now have two cups of mormon tea. If necessary add sugar to taste. Instead of the powder you can use the contents of 3 to 4 ephedra caps.
For an even more powerful stimulant you can add guarana and kolanut. For two cups take 5 grams ephedra (or 2 caps), 5 grams guarana (or 2 caps) and 3 grams kolanut (or 1 cap). And again, let it boil for 10 minutes and filter it before consumption.
Warning
Ephedra can cause insomnia, nervousness, heart-problems and high blood pressure. Do not take more than 4 capsules daily. Never take ephedra when pregnant or diabetic, if you have a heart-disease or high blood-pressure. Do not combine ephedra with asthma medication or MAO-inhibitors like anti-depressants or yohimbe. Do not use ephedra for longer than two months.

“Good, also the taste. A low dosage is exciting, higher is powerful!”

“I am a 63 year old male, in very good shape with a heavy weight frame. I regularly run mixed terrain cross country and during the summer months intensive rowing in the sea.
I had had asthma on-and-off for nearly twenty years and used to take Ventolin and Becotide inhalers, albeit in small doses. I had read about Ephedra, got to your site, ordered the herb capsules and tried it as a bronchodilator. It is very gentle and long lasting.
One capsule taken several hours before intensive exercise, kicks in within an hour and my whole system begins to feel clear and bright - the effect can last up to two days (even after the heavy exercise).
The side effects are that I feel slightly nervous after that first hour or so and I pee small amounts more frequently during the first few hours! I feel more powerful running and rowing.
I take no more than three capsules a week, as I do not want to compromise my already-asthma-weak immune system. (How would I feel taking three or four per day!!).
I practice Buteyko breathing, I no longer take Becotide and I take an occassional single puff of Ventolin. I am English and my National Health Service doctor advises that Ephedra is banned here. Keep up the good work - we need you.”
