Catmint (Nepeta cataria)

Cats seem to have a special preference for this plant. They always look for it and when they obtain it, they become very excited.

In humans Catmint has a relaxing effect. It is also used to reduce discomfort during menstruation, and to improve sleep. The taste is very nice.

Effects

Catmint is relaxing and mildly hallucinogenic. After drinking a strong tea of the herb, it gives a pleasant relaxing high and has a stimulating effect on the imagination.

Catmint is perfect for a relaxed evening, while listening to music or coming to rest after a busy day.

Usage

To make a tea take 25 grams (approx. 1 oz) and boil it for a couple of minutes in a litre of water. Then take it off the heat and leave it for 15 minutes. Sift it and if you like, add honey or sugar to taste. Drink one cup and wait for the effects before taking more.

Catmint can be used in combination with Galangal, Damiana en Valerian root.

When i didn't feel anything from the 25g i made tea on everything that was left (55g) and i still didn't feel anything. I honestly think that the feeling people get from it is placebo.

Didn't try to smoke it tho.”

Its better if u smoke it a few times but with only small amount of catmint.”
