I realize the pack is very good, but I am a hardhead, so nothing of these gave me anything spectacular. With smoking the extract (which I can hav done a bit poorly) I gained nothing except for relaxation. Taking the leaves and make a quid gave me a very nice S + a bit of A state. I liked it. It's good for the price for people who are a bit weaker to Salvorin A.

Definetly good for the beginners, the leafs go well in spliffs (nice relaxing effect) while the extracts are just incredible with a bong.
Get your hands on a decent torch lighter though, you really see the difference

The method I chose for my first experience involved soaking 3g of dried leaves and them rolling them into a 'quid' for 1/2 hour of chewing. I can certainly see why people choose to smoke concentrated extracts, as the taste and experience is rather bitter and I did feel the nausea that many people report from chewing the bitter leaves.

However, I chose that method after coming across this ethnobotanist's lecture online: http://www.salvia.net/en/usage.htm It seemed a very wise approach, and I followed her recommendations as closely and respectfully as possible. It only seemed right that at the end of my personal academic experience, I would listen carefully to what another academic had to say from their experience and perspective.

In the end I can really understand the wisdom of her recommended approach. Chewing has a very mild initial effect that I think is something like a meditative state that you could literally scare off if you had the wrong attitude about or didn't know how to drop into, and in the end feel nothing. However, being able to both follow that and keep my goal in mind, led to a very subtle but powerful dreamlike state in which many important personal things I've been grappling with were revealed or confirmed. The main effect did fade about 30 minutes after coming on, but I've felt the very interesting and subtle after effects all night and into the next day. All I can say is that there is good reason it is called Diviner's sage, as it continues to work on your mind, allowing you to open up and make connections long after the "trip" has ended... if you're respectful and open to listening.

If you're a first timer, and especially someone with some experience of psychedelics or meditative practice, I would highly recommend starting with chewing the 3g of dried leaves and then work up from there to different methods and concentrations if you so choose.
