The Hawaiian baby woodrose (Argyreia nervosa) is a member of the convolvulaceae family which also includes the morning glory. They contain a naturally occurring tryptamine called LSA (Lysergic Acid Amide), which is closely related to LSD. The seeds are consumed orally, either direct or after extraction of the active alkaloids.
Cultivation
Take the plant from the protective cup and plant it in a container that is filled with a mixture of 80% cocopeat and 20% perlite. To support the plant it is recommended to place a screen or tube netting. Do not expose the plant to full sunlight yet.
When the plant is used to its new climate it should display new growth. Place it in a location where it receives plenty sunlight, such as a widowsill or sunny spot in the garden. Bring the plant indoors during the winter.
Use a growing medium that consists of 80% cocopeat and 20% perlite. Fertilize lightly on a weekly base, preferably pH 5.5 - 6.5. Make sure the soil is not constantly wet, allow soil to become moderately dry before watering.
Harvesting: The seed pods should be harvested when thoroughly dry.
