Leonurus sibiricus (marihuanilla)

Leonurus sibiricus is also known as Siberian motherwort and little marijuana. This bush, reaching 1-2 meters has been used in traditional Asian medicin for many centuries for its relaxing and soothing effects. It is said to help against potency problems, menstruation problems and bruises. In South America and Mexico the herb was nicknamed "marihuanilla" (little marijuana). Mixed in a blend of herbs or used on itself, it is said to be a mild intoxicant.

Effects
Leonurus sibiricus is mostly used for its relaxing effects and its pleasant, mild taste. Although it is said to be a mild intoxicant and it has been confirmed that the plant contains alkaloids such as leonurine, it is not exactly known what causes this intoxication. Traditional use ranges very wide: it supports the blood pressure, helps menstruation problems, helps against bruises and skin problems.
Usage
Traditional Asian use involves soaking 1-3 teaspoons of the herb in hot water for 15 minutes.

“Expected it to be relaxing but I didn`t notice anything. Maybe I didn`t ude enough. The tea tastes like just herbs, it`s OK. But after it cooled down a bit, the taste gets bad. Drink it hot. ”
