Medical Cannabis in Spain

MADRID (ANP) - 4 hospitals and 60 pharmacies in the north-east of Spain hand out cannabis for patients. The experiment will take 1 year.

The research will be focused on the patient's positive effects. This was reported on Tuesday by the health authorities.

In some cases cannabis increases the appetite of AIDS-patients, decreases nausea and vomiting at chemotherapy and eases chronical pain. Marihuana is illegal in spain, though a lot of people are consuming it because of certain medical conditions. In most cases the cannabis is smoked, although doctors advise against it because of harmful side effects.
