Recommended Temperatures for Vaporizing Herbs

By now, whoever visits this site is probably aware of what vaporizing is (if this is a misconception you could always look back on our article "The Vaporizer Files"). However, did you realize the abundance of possibilities that are available in this innovative world?

Vaporizing is simply a healthy substitute for combustion and so not just something that's confined to the great green grass... These herbs have a long history of being smoked by many different tribesmen and so it's not restricted to vaporization alone, though we should count ourselves lucky that we have the opportunity to conduct a healthier lifestyle.

The list bellow is intended for inspiration and the temperatures indicated are also something to experiment with, for not everyone enjoys the same potency…

Low temperatures:

    • Chamomile: 100°C to 125°C (212°F to 257°F)

    • Clove: 125°C to 150°C (257°F to 302°F)

    • Lavender: 100°C to 125°C (212°F to 257°F)

    • Peppermint: 100°C to 150°C (212°F to 302°F)

    • Thyme: 100°C to 150°C (212°F to 302°F)

    • Tobacco: 125°C to 150°C (257°F to 302°F)

    • Wormwood: 100°C to 150°C (212°F to 302°F)


Medium temperatures:

    • Damiana: 150°C to 175°C (302°F to 347°F)

    • Ephedra: 125°C to 175°C (257°F to 347°F)

    • Fennel: 150°C to 175°C (302°F to 347°F)

    • Ginkgo: 125°C to 175°C (257°F to 347°F)

    • Guarana:125°C to 175°C (257°F to 347°F)


High temperature:

    • Aloe Vera: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)

    • Garlic: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)

    • Ginger:175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)- a clever way of neutralizing the plastic taste that could develop in some vaporizers

    • Ginseng: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)

    • Hops: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)

    • Kava Kava: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)

    • Kola Nut: 185°C to 200°C (365°F to 392°F)

    • Kratom: 175°C to 200°C (347°F to 392°F)- It should be noted that steeping a tea from kratom is a lot more effective, however the 50x and the gold extract should suffice for a genuine experience

    • Valerian: 185°C to 200°C (365°F to 392°F)

    • Yohimbe: 185°C to 200°C (365°F to 392°F)

  • Cannabis: 180°C to 220°C (356°F to 428°F)



Temperatures over 230°C are not recommended.
