Dabs. You might have heard of it (if not, read our blog item). Dabs (or “rosin”, as the American say it) are truly amazing. To put in Mark “rent boy” Renton’s words:
“Take the best weed you ever had. Multiply it by a thousand and you’re still nowhere near it.”
However great they are, due to legal reasons they’re not widely available in most places. So it’s time to make some DIY dabs at home! This is often done with butane. If you prefer not to work with dangerous chemicals, the pressing method might be better for you.
All you need is some bud. Just put it in one of these 110 x 50 mm, 20 x 50 mm 50 μ or 20 x 50 mm 30 μ filter bags (one package contains ten of them). You don’t even have to grind it. Just make sure you take all the twigs out. Break them up when they’re in the bag, then push them really hard between the palm of your hand and the table. Fold the part of the bag that sticks out, so that the bag is closed.
Put it between two layers of baking paper, and you’re ready to press it. You could consider using a special heat press for this, but in fairness: a straightening iron will also do the job.
The rosin filter bag is made of special nylon texture which is heat-resistant (up to 240°C), robust and reusable.
