Sit back and relax: our Top 10 Indica seeds

Cannabis indica. What a lovely name and what a lovely smoke. In contrast to her big sister Cannabis sativa, the plant has broader leaves and grows shorter and denser (read more about the differences in What's the difference between Indica and Sativa?.) Thanks to the opulent resin production this variant has traditionally been used for the production of hash. Okay, so they look different, but what about the high? Here we enter the domain of endless debate. Some cannaisseurs prefer one of the two cannabis types, others state the differences in effects have become negligible through global hybridization. That, of course, begs for a very thorough side-by-side test and in that case you might want to look for the following effects in Indica strains: she makes you feel relaxed and calm, you´ll get a body buzz which can turn into the fabled couch lock and don’t be surprised if you fall asleep after a few tokes.

Want to try some of the best current Indicas?

You’re in luck because our staff picked ten of the best Indica strains and this September you can get them at a 20% discount.

1. Critical Kush (Dinafem)

Critical + and OG Kush meet up to create a powerhouse. Deep flavours and aromas will cater to the lover of citric strains. But watch out, this one hits the body in true Indica style and will stop you right in your tracks.

2. Super Skunk (White Label)

Super...Skunk. The name just produces a feeling of awe. Rightly so, this is a true classic that upped the skunk game in 1990 by forming a hybrid with a pure Afghan hash plant. The rest, as they say, is history. Everything is just super: smell, vigour and of course the heavvvvvvy stone.

3. Northern Lights (Sensi Seeds)

One of the most dominant strains ever. At the height of her fame, she would win cannabis cups with unparalleled ease. Still a bestseller after all these years thanks to her characteristic sweet smell and powerful effect

4. Shoreline (Devil's Harvest)

Grow Shoreline indoors at your own risk, because this one is a stinker! Perhaps not much of surprise when you consider its parent, an early incarnation of Skunk. The original Shoreline was once thought to be lost but eventually got crossed with Oasis to form a favourite of lovers of big skunks.

5. Cookies Kush (Barney's Farm)

A pure Indica that is the result of a crossing between Girl Scout Cookies with Rolex Kush. The vigour and power are typical Indica and the plant easily produces big Kush buds. Cookies Kush is famed for its relaxing effects which will result in total couch lock.

6. Cheese (Green House)

Another Indica legend. Cheese began as an obscure hybrid of the great Skunk and Kush. You can almost get stoned by just imagining the interplay between those giants. Well, they pulled it off and eventually the strain wound up at Green House which made the stinky Cheese into a household name thanks to her intense bodily effect.

7. Kosher Kush (Reserva Privada)

California dreaming. Winner of the prestigious High Times Cannabis Cup's Best Indica in 2010 and 2011. It is said Kosher Kush can reach THC levels of 29%! Quite the challenge for ambitious growers.

8. Blueberry (Dutch Passion)

An Indica with a long history. Blueberry first began to make a name for herself at the end of the 1970s. Her deep relaxing effects were combined with a peculiar sweet taste. The soaring THC-level, colourful appearance and wonderful effect would eventually lead to a well-deserved High Times Cannabis Cup win in 2000.

9. Pineapple Kush (Amsterdam Genetics)

Like Blueberry, Pineapple Kush exudes a sweet, fruity fragrance. But wait, it gets better thanks to accents of caramel and butter. Pineapple Kush by Amsterdam Genetics, uses OG Kush as a parent accentuating the bodily effect which can be very strong. Pineapple Kush will leave you marinated in a deep, happy, stone.

10. Purple Kush (Kannabia)

Purple Kush is often praised for her subtle effects which makes her a great Indica for use during daily chores. The brilliant purple hues of the leaves make her easy to recognize. Kannabia’s version is a cross of Purple Kush with Black Domina. This is one relaxed strain that does not need much attention to grow into a natural beauty.
