Easily grow your own magic mushrooms with the mushroom grow kit 'Ready-To-Grow'. All you need to do is follow a few easy steps. After about 3 weeks the first shrooms can be harvested.
The Mushroom Grow Kit Ready-To-Grow contains mycelium from the Psilocybe cubensis mushroom. The mycelium in this kit has been developed on a rye-based substrate with a layer of vermiculite on top.
- Produces multiple harvests
- Yield: 400 - 600 g
- From start to harvest: 3 weeks
- Available as: B+, Cambodia and Golden Teacher
Ready to grow variations
B+: has the potential to produce enormous mushrooms that can easily reach 30 cm or larger.
Cambodia: Discovered near the famous Angkor Wat temple. Suitable for beginning cultivators, easy to cultivate and produces predictable yields.
Golden Teacher: the name comes from the golden colour of the caps and his teaching capacities. The first flush will produce medium sized mushrooms. In later flushes, they might grow into very large, robust mushrooms with fat stems.

Cultivation box (1200 ml) with colonized substrate, grow bag with air filter, two paper clips.
Store in a cool and dark place (refrigerator). Please note that this product has a limited shelf life. We recommend setting up the kit for growing immediately, it really is ready to grow!
Take note: always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the kit as mushrooms are vulnerable to contamination.
Step 1 - GROWING
Take the grow kit, plastic bag and paperclip out of the box. Remove the lid of the grow kit and rinse the lid under streaming water. Save the lid for later use. The kit comes with correct moisture levels but if it looks too dry you can spray some extra water on the inside of the bag (optional). If there is condense on the inside of the bag everything is perfectly fine.
Place the grow kit without the lid in the plastic (supplied) bag. Slide the opening of the bag under the bottom with the micro-perforation pointing upwards. The opening of the bag is now closed. There’s no need to worry about air circulation.
After about a week (sometimes a bit longer) you will see the first small mushrooms. If so, put the bag upright and leave the bag slightly open, so that the moisture can evaporate a little. Don’t water the mushrooms!
It’s time to place the grow kit in an area with enough daylight and a temperature between 18 °C and 28 °C. NEVER place the grow kit in direct sunlight or on top of a radiator. Although mushrooms will grow at almost any temperature above 15 °C, 23 °C is the ideal temperature for an optimal harvest.
When using a heat mat: if you are using a heat mat, you can place the grow kit over the heat mat at this stage (e.g. on two pencils to create some space between the grow kit and the mat).
Warning: Turn on the heat mat for a maximum of 2 days and then turn it off again. When the buds develop after 5 to 10 days you can turn on the heat mat again and open the top of the bag so that the moisture can evaporate.
Optional: you can tape the side of the kit with black duct tape. This will ensure that the mushroom will all grow upright.
The grow kits produce their first harvest fairly quickly. The first buds are visible after only one week, although low and high temperatures may slightly delay this growth process.
The moment of harvesting is extremely important and is marked by the state of the spores. If the spores under the caps are still closed but threaten to burst or let go by the power of the caps, the time has come to harvest. Check all your mushrooms continuously. If this happens to one or more of them, harvest! Don’t hesitate if you’re not sure. If it’s a bit too early, your mushrooms are still fine anyway.
If you see the lamella, and they've turned black (covered in spores), you’re a bit too late. This is a matter of learning and trying. If you’re late, you can still eat them. However, because the spores already dropped, your next flush may fail.
If there are still no buds after 10 days, you can take the cake (using clean hands) out of the plastic container and rinse it under the tap. Then put the cake straight in the container. If you use a heat mat, you can stress the kit a little by turning it on for 12 hours and then turning it off again. As soon as the mushrooms appear you can leave the mat on for another 2 days as described in step 3.
Step 5 - HARVESTING
Wash your hands thoroughly. Grab a mushroom between your fingers at the base, and softly twist it out. Avoid touching the white matter, which is the mycelium! Get them all out, also the mushrooms possibly formed in the substrate at the sides of the box – we advise using tweezers. Don’t dig with your hands as you might contaminate the kit for the next flush.
Step 6 – YOUR NEXT FLUSH
These kits are able to produce several mushroom harvests. Fill the kit with clean tap water after the first harvest to restart the process, this is known as a ‘cold shock’. It breathes new life into the mycelium and ensures that enough moisture is present for new mushrooms to grow.
Place the lid of the grow kit back on the kit. Let the kit rest for 12 hours. Open a corner of the lid and drain the excess water. From here you can follow the instructions from step 1 again. This process can be repeated several times.
