Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) powder comes from the root of Withania somnifera shrub, a plant in the nightshade family native to the arid regions of India, but also found in Nepal and China. It's commonly known as Indian ginseng due to very similar effects as Panax ginseng. The name ashwagandha is Sanskrit for "the smell of a horse", indicating their belief that it imparts the strength and vitality of a stallion.

The root powder is used to prepare ashwagandha, which is an important part of the Ayurveda.

According to traditional use in Asia, the powdered ashwagandha root supports your body's endurance and resilience.

Usage

The powder can be enjoyed in many different ways. Combine it with fresh fruit for a healthy smoothie, use it in a capsule or mix it with juice, milkshake or tea. Many sources also recommend combining ashwagandha with other superfoods.

The shredded variant can be used as a tea and taste slightly of liquorice.

We suggest using ashwagandha daily, for an extended period of time. Use 0.25 gram twice a day before meals.

Ik gebruik Ashwagandha al een tijdje en ik merk dat het ontzettend goed is voor je huid en tegen stress. Echter raad ik iedereen wel aan om je echt te houden aan de geadviseerde dosis ik heb een keer teveel ingenomen en kreeg hartkloppingen en werd licht in mijn hoofd ervan. Dus bij normaal gebruik is dit een top product maar neem het in met mate.

Gebruik ashwaganda nu ongeveer een half jaar en ben er zeer tevreden mee. Overdag mix ik 1/3 theelepel met 1/3 theelepel astralagus en drink daar een theetje van en neem daarmee een ginsengpilletje in voor een goede energieboost. S avonds een uur voor het slapen 1 volle theelepel met 1/2 theelepel nootmuskaat en je slaapt heerlijk.
